The Microsoft Add-In for GlobalMeet is the tiny powerhouse of the product suite. It has the highest usage of all the apps but the least design and dev attention. I conducted an audit, wanting to understand it’s features and how a user would discover and install the app.
The biggest issue discovered was with the install process— a custom link and set up with pages of instructions buried on PGi’s website. A 14 step process all in all.
To resolve this, GlobalMeet’s Add-In needed to be updated and submitted to the Microsoft store which would make it discoverable through Outlook with a simple key word search and a one click install process.
We created a value screen for why someone would want this app, added the ability to log out (and back in), and removed some less used features. We created new screenshots for the store page and updated the app description to ensure users would know the value the app is bringing to the way they get work done.
